Cloud-Native Workforce

Secure cloud environments empower government agencies to improve data security, workflow efficiency, and their ability to deliver on the mission. The U.S. Army has modernized several of programs by moving to the cloud services to improve security, scale at speed, and enable hybrid work environments. Recently, the Army modernized their Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) by migrating it to a secure cloud environment.

The LMP plays a critical role in the Army’s ability to meet the mission by procuring critical equipment and supplies. By migrating the LMP to a cloud environment the Army was able to improve security, streamline processes, enable data access and sharing, and reduce costs. However, because the LMP plays a critical role in its ability to perform daily tasks, the Army needed to migrate the LMP to a cloud environment without interrupting workflows.

The Army partnered with Maximus and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to migrate the LMP to the cloud without impeding the mission. This cloud mitigation included over 40 databases, 20 database-related servers, 50 applications, and multiple portal, development, and production servers. Throughout the migration process, all the LMP locations remained operational and experienced no downtime.
