Virtual Reality is the Top Trend for Military Training and Simulation in 2017

The past year has seen virtual reality (VR) headsets become part of the next tech wave.  While the majority of discussions focus on their application in the consumer market, VR is having its greatest impact in the military – particularly in training and preparing personnel for increasingly complex combat environments.

In an article published last month on Modern Military Training, experts from several companies, including Nick Gibbs of Rockwell Collins, shared his thoughts on why head worn display technology will dominate military training in 2017.  The key benefits cited by Gibbs and the other experts are the ability to create complex training environments via the VR headsets, cost reductions, and the ability to collect data on user performance.
