Recently, Government Technology Insider discussed the upcoming Virtual Government and Education User Group event with Brandon Shopp, Vice President of Product Strategy at SolarWinds. Shopp mentioned the event will focus on monitoring, management, and analytical solutions. The keynote presentation will also feature SolarWinds new CEO, Sudhakar Ramakrishna.
Government Technology Insider (GTI): Tell me about the upcoming Virtual User Group event.
Brandon Shopp (BS): It’s one of the handful of events we hold every year as a company. It’s a great opportunity to get to know people and see where we’re going. With the pandemic, we’ve moved to virtual, but it’s allowed us to reach a larger group of people, both customers and Partners. There will also be technical updates and discussions. In addition to these discussions, our CEO, who recently joined SolarWinds, will be giving the keynote.
GTI: Who can benefit from attendance?
BS: This is a great event for anyone. With no need to travel, it’s an opportunity for all. Originally, the intent was to focus on our customers, but through the years, we’ve expanded to include our Partners, and it allows for more people to join these events and conversations. Several speakers from across the organizations provide unique viewpoints, so no matter the background or skillset, there’s interest for a variety of people. We regularly hear from people who have left the user group with a better understanding of the product and use cases and problems to be solved. People who are thinking about how to better leverage products and solutions will benefit from this event. It also provides a great networking opportunity for peers in the industry.
GTI: What trends and topics will be tackled in the sessions?
BS: Topics included in the event are security, the database portfolio, the Orion® Platform family of products, ITSM, remote support, and updates from our customer success team. We’ll also discuss updates on what we’re working on like the new Secure by Design initiative.
GTI: How is the industry information shared at this event vital to public sector success?
BS: It’s important to share things we see in the industry. The information sharing and education through people who are connecting, and sharing is important. The webinars on a weekly basis aren’t just about driving knowledge about our solutions, but about the challenges people are facing. It’s about trying to do more with less in the public sector.
