Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and 5G are key technologies that federal agencies can use to deliver on missions more effectively. Brian Carnell, Chief AI Architect at Dell Technologies, shares use cases for the government for how these technologies can transform several agencies from first responders to training on the battlefield. AI, ML, and 5G can play a key role in the digital transformation of these industries.

These were the key themes of part two of the “The Power of AI, ML, and 5G” podcast series, where Carnell discusses this topic further.

“AI can be used as a mechanism to speed and improve first response. AI can prioritize emergency calls based on caller sentiment, location, and outcomes from similar calls. AI can then be used to map, prioritize, and dispatch the emergency resources based on their vicinity for the emergency or then the type of emergency that is called in,” said Carnell. “It can provide critical information from the knowledge base to responders, such as weather alerts or real time traffic alerts, where the first responder may be responding to an incident, and they need to be rerouted. AI can even be used to help predict, evaluated, or simulated incidents to improve response times or streamline that dispatch.”
