Recently, we spoke with Pat Mungovan, Senior Vice President, Oracle North America Public Sector, about digital transformation, pandemic response, and on being cloud smart. He shared that when it comes to the pandemic response, 2020 has shown that enterprise data management plays a critical role in being the foundation for overall preparedness.

“I think enterprise data management is at least as salient today as it has ever been – to connect people and processes that may exist in silos,” said Mungovan. “When you are focused on the mission, it’s hard to think about emergency preparedness. The critical nature of having a emergency plan and back-up, and knowing what to do, even in an unforeseen event, is important.”

And, when it comes to looking for the most ideal modern technology partner, agencies should consider those that listen and understand the challenges they face. “Technology partners should listen more to the opportunity or problem that the customer is trying to address or solve,” added Mungovan.
