The U.S. military is continually driving innovation to enhance military readiness through the expanded use of technology. One approach the branches are investigating involves the use of smartwatch technologies to help support soldiers, sailors, and airmen.
With smart wearables, the warfighter can stay fully connected and take advantage of enhanced situational awareness. On a larger scale, smartwatch technologies can enhance safety monitoring and overall training, as well as drive future-focused capabilities.
In this new podcast – Marc Bailey, Managing Partner of the DoD Sales at Verizon; and Todd Maxwell, Director of Business Development, Government at Samsung, discuss how the military can enable mission sets with wearable smartwatch technologies.
“Smartwatch technologies are really playing a significant role in how they connect our warfighters,” said Bailey. “These watches oftentimes have features like GPS tracking, health monitoring and messaging. They really allow soldiers to stay connected in challenging environments, and they can do all of this from their wrists, which really advances situational awareness and safety for warfighters.”
