From an early age, we’re taught the merits of sharing. The bad guys behind our cyber security efforts seem to have learned this well. Shouldn’t the “good guys” in cyber defense do the same?
In a recent blog post, Guidance Software’s Alex Andrianopoulos notes the lessons we learned decades ago are still applicable today – particularly when it comes to cybersecurity. His post examines the processes and delays that exist in today’s hostile network environment including the lengthy timeframe from when a security breach occurs to the development of a defense and ultimate sharing of a proper solution.
Why the delay? “Because the good guys do not share enough information,” Andrianopoulos says. “Information sharing will only help with accelerating the time to deployment of a solution to a specific problem or threat.”
Read why Andrianopoulos believes “organizations must proactively and collaboratively search for lurking threats and identify security breaches before real damage is inflicted.”
