In our last episode of the FTI Podcast, we spoke with representatives of ARServices about the essential work that is done by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), an organization within the military that provides the mandatory logistics services that make global operations possible.
ARServices is one of the federal contracting partners that the DLA has chosen to help assist with their mission and responsibilities, which include – but are not limited to – managing aviation demand and supply, handling disposition of excess property, delivering energy solutions, and managing the global supply chains that deliver equipment and solutions necessary for military efforts.
During our discussion with Jay McCargo, the CEO of ARServices, and John Stanton, who oversees all of the work that ARServices does on behalf of the agency, we talked about the DLA’s mission, why it’s so essential for the military and the role that contractors play in making their mission a success.
In follow-up to that discussion, we sat down a second time with both Jay and John to talk some more about the issues currently facing the DLA. We analyzed how the potential for military activities in multiple, disparate theaters could impact and stress its operations. We covered ways in which they can work to overcome those challenges. And we discussed how experience in logistics from the private sector could help bring a new and fresh perspective to the DLA.
