Over the last few years there has been a lot of attention paid to America’s healthcare system. From the introduction of the Affordable Care Act to the healthcare IT revolution with electronic health records, healthcare data management, and how healthcare payments are made the U.S. healthcare ecosystem has faced a period of massive change and transition. While many aspects of change have occurred in the private sector, the government and federal government agencies are front and center in driving and delivering the health IT revolution.
Recently, immixGroup, in conjunction with CA Technologies, brought together several experts from agencies that are at the forefront of the healthcare revolution – including speakers from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMMS), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – to discuss the modernization of healthcare system and how to improve healthcare interoperability. Government agencies are in a unique position as they both set policy and standards for healthcare systems and consumers of these services as agencies like the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs deliver healthcare to constituents in increasingly complex environments.
To learn more about how agencies are overcoming technical and budgetary barriers and using IT to improve delivery healthcare related services and reduce costs at the same time, why not watch the video of the session? You can access a full recording of the panel here…
